We know that the floor in the Playhouse at Timber Ridge can be a challenge to dance on, but we think we have found a good solution - and we are asking for your help.
Touring professional dance companies bring rolls of temporary flooring with them, to ensure dancers' safety and provide a smooth surface, great for spins. Rosco (an industry leader in dance floors) makes flooring specifically designed for repeated temporary installation and reuse. It's expensive, but it's durable, and it really works. We've received a sample piece of "Adagio Tour" from Rosco. See the demonstration video below, that shows you what a nice dance surface it is.
We need to raise about $5000 - for four rolls of Rosco flooring plus shipping. If everyone who has been to FootFall gave just a little, next year we'd have a wonderful dance surface, suitable for waltz, hambo, contra (including techno-contra), English, squares and more, in an AIR-CONDITIONED space.
Please consider donating any amount - $10, $20, $50, more? - by using the PayPal link below. Or send a check, payable to "FootFall Dance" - mark it "Floor Fund" and mail it to: Jerry Blum, 4520 Fidelity Court, Annandale, Virginia 22003.
Your feet, knees, and hips will thank you. And so will we.
